• Notification of absences

     

    Chinook must be notified of your child's absence before 9:45 a.m. on the day of the absence. To report an absence, you may call, email, or log onto ParentConnect.

     

    • Call our front office at 907-742-6700 and leave a message on the attendance line, Option 2. You may leave a voicemail with your student's name, teacher, and reason for absence.

    • If your child is not attending school, please email ChinookAttendance@asdk12.org with your student's name, teacher, and reason for absence.

    • Report your child's absence through Parent Connect. See directions 

     

    Please be advised that if your phone call or email is not received by 9:45 a.m., you may receive a robocall stating that your child has been marked absent. Despite our best efforts, we may not be able to input all notices in a timely manner due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. 

     


     

    Two attendance records are collected daily, and the following information describes how they will be coded

     

    A.M. Session (8:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.)

    Your student will be considered tardy for the a.m. session if they arrive between 8:00 a.m. & 9:00 a.m.

    Your student will be considered absent for the A.M. session (0.5 days) if they arrive after 9:00 a.m.

     

    P.M. Session (11:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)

    Your student will be considered tardy for the a.m. session if they arrive between 11:15 a.m. & 12:15 p.m.

    Your student will be considered absent for the A.M. session (0.5 days) if they arrive after 12:15 p.m.

     


     

    Pre-Arranged Absences

     

    Fill out this form if your student will be gone for 5 or more days, and email it to ChinookAttendance@asdk12.org or bring the form to the front office.

     

    If a student misses school, parents are encouraged to work with their child's teacher and principal to determine the appropriate make-up and timeline to complete the work. The district has updated the make-up procedures for class work, assignments and tests. The procedures are outlined in the student handbooks
