Handy Richtlinien (Cell Phone Guidelines)
-
Cell phones are part of our everyday life, but they also lead to distraction in an academic setting. Below, are the cell phone guidelines for students at Rilke Schule:
-
Students will not use or check their cell phones or other devices (tablets, watches, etc.) between the school hours of 7:45 - 3:15 while on the Rilke Schule campus. This includes in the building and on the grounds during those times. However, a teacher may give explicit permission to use a device for academic purposes.
-
If a student does use a device, it will be confiscated and a parent will need to come to the front office to retrieve the item. If this becomes a habitual offense, disciplinary action could be taken.
-
Students may be given explicit permission to use the device to communicate with parents only in the front office. Students should not be calling or texting parents on campus without explicit permission to make that call in the front office.
-
Parents need to call the front office to communicate with students. Do not call or text students during the school day. This could lead to device confiscation or discipline action.
-
Lastly, do not call or text during dismissal time. First, it is illegal to be on a cell phone while driving through a school parking lot. Secondly, your children already know that you are picking them up, it shouldn’t be a surprise. If pick up arrangements change, please contact the office and we will relay the message.
