Dashboard Definitions
MAP Growth Results Overview: Percent and number of students above 50th percentile
This view displays the number and percent of students who scored above the 50th percentile. Data may be filtered by year, season, subject, division, school, grade level and ethnicity. The number represents the distinct count of students who tested. As such, if all seasons are selected students who tested in multiple seasons will be counted once. Data will be suppressed (replaced with an asterisk) if the total number is 10 or fewer students.
MAP Growth Percentile Bins by School: Percent and number by grade level and quintile by school
This view represents the percent and number of students in each grade level and percentile rank (quintile). Data can be filtered by year, season, division, school, grade level and ethnicity. Data will be suppressed (replaced with an asterisk) if the total number is 10 or fewer students.
Additional information
MAP Growth RIT (Rasch Unit) Scores
- RIT stands for Rasch Unit, which is a unit of measure that uses individual test question difficulty values to estimate student achievement on the computer-adaptive MAP Growth assessment.
- A RIT score is independent of the age or grade of the student and reflects where a student is ready to learn, helping teachers plan instruction at an appropriate level for the student.
Percentile Rank
- The student's percentile rank is the percentage of students who had a RIT score less than or equal to this score as observed in the NWEA norms study.
- The percentile rank allows a student to be compared to similar students across the nation who took MAP Growth during the same term or window.
