Data, Research, and Statistics
-
If you are an ASD employee and need data for an ASD related project, please submit an internal JIRA ticket to the (Q reports and student data) OR the (Assessment data).
All in-person research requests (surveys, interviews, observations, or data gathering activities) have been severely limited due to ongoing staffing shortages.
Online distribution and support for surveys, interviews, and data gathering processes are also severely limited. Please keep these considerations in mind when submitting a research request.
All data and research requests undergo a review process by ASD leadership. This process may take a couple of weeks or a couple of months depending on time of the year, limited district resources, and the scope/complexity of work to be reviewed. Plan ahead for a long review process when submitting a request.
Due to the interruptions of COVID-19, PEAKS/DLM, MAP Growth, and FastBridge assessment testing did not occur in the spring or fall of 2020. These data are not available.

Conduct Research at ASD
- The Î÷Ê©Ö±²¥APP School District is the largest school district in Alaska, filled with diverse and vibrant students and staff. We receive dozens of requests each year to participate in research, both local and national. We weigh the potential benefits of each research request against the time and education costs for each student. We only approve research that provides a clear benefit to our students.
- Research is a process of gathering new data. Research usually involves surveys, interviews, focus groups, and field observation. If you want to request existing data, see the above section "Request Data from ASD".
- Research Requests must provide the name of an ASD staff sponsor that will act as a liaison for the researcher(s). ASD does not approve "cold call" requests for research, where the requesting parties have no prior contact or professional relationship to ASD.
- Please see Student Privacy for more information on the eight protected areas, and survey exemptions before submitting a research request.
If you have read about Student Privacy and Required Documentation and still want to conduct research at ASD, complete a .
If you wish to conduct research at ASD and need existing data for your research, please complete both data request and research request forms.
