What is the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program?
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers is a federal grant administered in the state of Alaska by DEED (Dept. of Education and Early Development). Î÷Ê©Ö±²¥APP School District is the largest grant holder in the state. We offer no cost after school academic intervention and enrichment to the 10 most economically disadvantaged schools in the district. Of those schools, students are referred by their school day teacher to the program who are underperforming. This can be for a variety of reasons; attendance, minor behavior, state test scores, grades, Child in Transition students, English Learning students, and students who need additional Social and Emotional Learning supports.
