Professional Teaching Practices Commission Handbook
As stated in Board Policy 4119.21 (below), the district expects employees to abide by the code of ethics of the education profession adopted by the Professional Teaching Practices Commission (PTPC). Click here to view the most current PTPC Handbook.
Board Policy 4119.21/4219.21/4319.21 ALL PERSONNEL - CODES OF ETHICS
The Î÷Ê©Ö±²¥APP expects district employees to maintain the highest ethical standards, to follow district policies and regulations, and to abide by the code of ethics of the education profession adopted by the Professional Teaching Practices Commission, the Municipality of Î÷Ê©Ö±²¥APP code of ethics, and state and federal laws. Employee conduct should enhance the integrity of the district and the goals of the educational program.
The Î÷Ê©Ö±²¥APP encourages district employees to accept as guiding principles the codes of ethics published by professional associations to which they may belong.
Members of the teaching profession are obligated by law to abide by the code of ethics and professional standards adopted by the Professional Teaching Practices Commission (20 AAC 10.010). Employees who violate provisions of the code of ethics and professional standards may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. The district may report any violation of the code of ethics to the Professional Teaching Practices Commission.
Employees with authorized access to privileged/classified information will preserve confidentiality of the information. Employees who violate this policy are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Criminal history record information received from the Department of Public Safety will only be accessible to authorized staff who have a business need to review fingerprint-based criminal history record information and are current with biennial security awareness training as required by FBI CJIS Security Policy.
